Our stories feature national and regional interest stories along with timely cover stories that relate to decorating, remodeling, new construction, kitchens and baths, outdoor living spaces, and other topics. Local businesses can leverage our editorial format to showcase their new products or services.

Here are our mechanical requirements for ads:

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• Include Issue Date/Advertising Agency Name & Phone Number/Contact Person
• List of Contents/Ad Name/Number WITH ALL ADS
• All ads should include a printout of the contents of each disk supplied
• Ads may preferably be submitted as high-resolution PDF files, but also may be submitted in QuarkXpress, (please collect all fonts and pictures for output) or as CMYK tiff or eps files.
• Any ads created in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, Power Point, or any other word-processing program WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
• All ads submitted should be suitable to print as is. Urban Home is NOT responsible for any errors in content if files are prepared improperly and mechanical requirements are not met. Urban Home will not guarantee the reproduction of the ad, and additional production charges to the advertiser may result.
• Proofs must be provided at 100% size with crop marks.

Press-Ready PDF

• File CANNOT use transparency (if your file uses transparency, please see EPS below).
• All images must be 300 dpi CMYK or Grayscale.
• All colors must be 4-color CMYK.
• File MUST HAVE a MINIMUM of .25 inches BLEED on all 4 sides.
• Save as file type PDF Compatibility = Acrobat 4.0 or higher.
• All compression for images should be at 300 dpi.
• You should have CROP MARKS offset .25 inches.
• PDF must use BLEED (.25 inches on all 4 sides).EMBED ALL FONTS

Press-Ready TIFF

• All images must be 300 dpi CMYK or Grayscale.
• All colors must be 4-color CMYK.
• File MUST HAVE a MINIMUM of .25 inches BLEED on all 4 sides.
• Save as file type TIFF
• Image compression = NONE

Press-Ready EPS

• All images must be 300 dpi CMYK or Grayscale.
• All colors must be 4-color CMYK.
• File MUST HAVE a MINIMUM of .25 inches BLEED on all 4 sides.
• Save as file type EPS
• PostScript: Level 2.
• Color: CMYK
• Preview: TIFF
• Data Format: ASCII or Binary
