Oiled Bronze a new look in kitchen appliances

Kitchen appliances were first offered in colors other than white in the mid 1950s. The trend didn’t take off until the avocado and harvest gold colors popular in the 1960s – colors long since forgotten.

Bill Pleasants Jr., general manager of Plaza Appliance Mart, had a sneak peek at the new line in March. “We expect the appliances in the store by the end of July,” said Bill. “We think they will be the hottest new look for those consumers who want something different,” added Bill who used the adjectives “different, unique and stylish” to describe the Oiled Bronze line.

The line includes electric and gas cook tops, wall ovens, warming drawers, refrigerators and dishwashers. And expect the same quality found in other Jenn-Air products. According to independent national consumer research, Jenn-Air has been the number one preferred brand among consumers for cooking products since 1989.

While stainless steel and black appliances continue to soar in popularity, Bill believes the Oiled Bronze takes color to a new level. It’s a far cry from the colors a few decades ago. “I remember when my great uncle had light pink appliances,” mused Bill. “Color in appliances these days has evolved to a different level from those popular in the 1960s and 1970s.”
