Beauty, From the Outside In

More than 28 years ago, Debs Pedigo started Firehouse Casual Living Stores with a simple philosophy: “We vowed to provide the highest quality outdoor furniture available, and offer it at the greatest value,” he says.

Debs’ high standards served him well, leading to the success of his Firehouse Casual Living Stores, (with four locations in Charlotte, Raleigh and Greenville) and developing a loyal following among his customers.

Now Debs’ philosophy is the driving force behind a new interior furniture store in Charlotte. Furniture Marketplace will meet Debs’ same demands for excellence in quality products and personal service. In addition, he says that purchasing direct from the manufacturers will allow him to pass the best prices on to his customers.

“Many of our customers have told us they like dealing with us for their outdoor furniture,” says Debs. “They have said they wished we sold indoor furniture, too. That’s where this idea originated. We want to provide the service our loyal customers want, and offer an alternative to big box furniture retailers.”

“ Many people like shopping at a store that is locally owned,” he continues. “We offer a more intimate setting and provide a higher level of customer service than most furniture stores. Our in-store decorators are available to come to our customers’ homes to help them with their selection.”

Anyone who’s shopped for furniture before knows it helps to have someone with a trained eye providing guidance and direction. “We’ve been in the furniture business for a long time, so we know quality, and our relationships with manufacturers will allow us to get the best price for our customers.”

Furniture Marketplace will feature the very best lines of fine furniture for the home, including American Drew, Classic Leather, Clayton Marcus, Kincaid, Pennsylvania House, Lexington, and more. Customers will have two ways to shop: they can browse the collections at Furniture Marketplace by coming into the store, or they can preview the furniture online at furnituremktplace.com.

Debs says his staff will use their expertise to help customers coordinate the look of their outdoor living spaces with their indoor style.

“It’s nice to complement the visual areas of our outdoor living spaces with the interior design,” says Debs. “Between the two stores, we now offer all the furniture to meet their needs. Whether they start with their indoor furniture or the outdoor furniture, we’re able to help our customers improve the flow of their homes from the outside to the inside.”

“This new store enables us to take care of our customers even better than we were before,” says Debs. “We’re providing the same commitment to personalized, knowledgeable customer service we’re known for, only now we’re making their homes beautiful on the inside, too.”
