Anything But Ordinary

If you find your home furnishings need a new look and you want highly personalized service, Urban Home discovered a wonderful new local resource, brimming with great ideas and a selection that is hard to beat-Furniture Forum in Mooresville/Lake Norman.

We sat down with co-owners, Ron McDowell and Frederick Laderer, to find out what's hot for 2008 and how their eclectic design expertise can help homeowners with their decorating decisions. Furniture Forum is packed with over 6,000-square-feet of furniture, accessories and gifts for the home.

"We are all about creating an eclectic look with a combination of our past, present and future, an extremely livable and inviting place to relax, entertain and live life to its fullest," said Frederick. The feeling at Furniture Forum is low-key and relaxed. "Good design takes time," says Ron. "And great design takes customer collaboration. We encourage customers to bring in photos of the rooms they need help with or we'll go to their homes, understand their lifestyle and decorating goals, and put a plan in place that can be as comprehensive as an entire home makeover to a smaller plan, implemented slowly, piece-by-piece or one room at a time."

And since Furniture Forum carries lines from manufacturers around the world, Ron and Frederick have access to literally thousands of pieces ranging from transitional to contemporary. They also stock a broad range of Illume candles, and accessories from around the world that make the perfect gift.

Frederick told us that the fresh new looks and design trends for 2008 are large, colorful, bold prints in upholstery and window treatments. Also leather is back on the scene in a big way mixed with upholstery pieces. Accessories are becoming oversized and minimal. As one door closes on clutter, another one opens on simplicity. Bring the outside in with color--imagine all those incredibly beautiful colors from a setting sun from golds, oranges, fuscias and blues, peaceful and calming with exciting vibrancy.

In 2008, Furniture Forum will present their exclusive line of upholstery and leather furniture as well as seminars on design.
