Naturally Beautiful and Environmentally Friendly Countertops When it comes to products for your home that are beautiful and environmentally friendly, the options narrow quickly. With Cambria Natural Quartz Surfaces(tm), homeowners can be both design and environmentally conscious. Cambria's Desert Collection(tm) includes six of the new colors along with two existing colors, all contemporary in look with concrete and sand characteristics. The additional six new colors have been added to Cambria's popular Quarry Collection(tm), expanding Cambria's offering in this area. All Quarry Collection colors capture the beauty and random variations found in natural quartz stone and are a favorite among consumers. "The addition of the 12 new colors to Cambria's existing color palette will allow consumers to incorporate unique color combinations in their homes by using one color on the countertop and a complementary color on the island or backsplash," said Tom Annexstad, Cambria's senior vice president of sales. Cambria has also recently released 20 colors in a one centimeter product, allowing for even more unique design opportunities on a variety of surfaces, including shower, bathtub and fireplace surrounds. Cambria recently announced its GREENGUARD Children and Schools SM certificate by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI). GEI is an industry-independent, non-profit organization that was founded to establish a third-party product certification program based on proven emissions standards. This is the second GREENGUARD certification for Cambria, having been awarded the Indoor Air Quality R certification by GREENGUARD in 2006. "We are very committed to producing environmentally friendly products utilizing sustainable methods such as recycling 100 percent of the water we use in the manufacturing process," said Annexstad. "This certification illustrates that we have been successful in developing environmentally responsible products." Consumer Reports recently reported, for the second time, that quartz is the top performing countertop surface for its durability and low maintenance. Consumers want countertops that are stylish, maintenance-free, safe for food preparation and that are environmentally friendly. And homeowners need not sacrifice beauty for environmental conscientiousness. Recently, Cambria unveiled 12 exciting new colors during the 2007 Kitchen/Bath Industry Show (K/BIS) in Las Vegas. These new colors complement existing Cambria colors, making for unique opportunities to incorporate multiple colors on a variety of surfaces creating more depth and character in a home. Cambria is a privately held, family-owned company with more than 550 employees. Headquartered in Le Sueur, Minnesota, Cambria is one of the few quartz surface plants in the world and the only producer of natural quartz surfaces in the United States.
